The Ondo State Security Network, Amotekun Corps, has warned the people of the state to be security conscious to prevent illegal herdsmen who are recently attempting to flood forests in the state.

Commander of the Corps, Adetunji Adeleye, made the call in Akure while parading 31 suspects arrested for different crimes ranging from rape, illegal grazing, kidnapping, armed robbery and murder cases.

Chief Adeleye disclosed that the state had in the last one month experienced sudden influx of illegal herdsmen into the state from neighbouring towns in Ekiti, Kogi and Edo States, assuring the people of Iju/Itaogbolu and other parts of Akure North local government area that security agencies are camping down on kidnappers recently disturbing the areas.

The Corps Commander revealed that they came in trucks with loads which they refused the joint security patrol team to search, adding that they were stopped from entering Ondo state.

On the Ikare Akoko crisis, the Special Adviser to Governor Akeredolu on Security matters, threatened that security agencies would henceforth deal decisively with anybody causing conflict in the town.

He assured that Ikare Akoko is now safe for prospective Corps members and NYSC officials to hold orientation programmes at their Orientation Camp in the town.

Adeleye noted that the 31 suspects paraded would be charged to court for prosecution.
