Confederation of Africa Football, CAF has announced that the draw for the group stages of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON in Cote D’Ivoire will be held on October 12, 2023.
CAF Executive Committee approved the date at its Congress in Algiers, Algeria on Thursday.
“The EXCO announced that the Official Draw of the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations Côte d’Ivoire 2023 will be conducted on Thursday, 12 October 2023,” CAF’s statement on Friday read
Holders Senegal, Algeria, Tunisia, South Africa, Morocco and Burkina Faso have joined hosts The Elephants in the line up for the tournament which has now been confirmed to start in January 2024.
Nigeria leads Group A with 9 points from 4 matches and will play Sierra Leone in a double header final qualifiers next month to determine their progression into the tournament.
