Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has warned members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) against anti-party activities, declaring that his administration would not tolerate actions capable of weakening the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Aiyedatiwa gave the warning in Akure during a strategic meeting with the APC’s 18 local government chairmen and 203 ward chairmen in the state.

The governor urged the party’s grassroots leaders to strengthen mobilisation and unity within their respective wards, stressing that the ward structure remained critical to the APC’s electoral success.

He charged the ward chairmen and secretaries to hold regular meetings to bring party leaders together, deliberate on issues affecting the party and intensify preparations for the 2027 elections.

Aiyedatiwa, however, cautioned that such meetings must be focused on mobilisation and party-building, warning against using them for ulterior purposes.

The governor also dismissed allegations that he was involved in moves to undermine the APC or sponsor members to defect to opposition parties, including the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

He described such allegations as attempts by what he called “naysayers” to create confusion within the party and undermine its unity.

Earlier, the APC State Chairman, Babatunde Kolawole, called for greater loyalty and unity among members, urging the 203 ward chairmen to mobilise support for all APC candidates and work towards decisive victories for the party across the state in 2027.

Kolawole commended the governor for reactivating key organs of the party, including the State Executive Committee, the Caucus and the Elders Council, saying the move would further strengthen the party ahead of the elections.

Speaking on behalf of the ward chairmen from the 18 local government areas, Oluwadare Fadumo commended Aiyedatiwa for what he described as unprecedented support for local councils and their constituents.

Responding to the commendations, the governor expressed appreciation to the party leaders for their assessment of his administration’s projects and programmes.

He said the positive feedback would motivate his administration to intensify its efforts and accelerate the completion of ongoing projects across the state.

Aiyedatiwa reaffirmed the commitment of his administration to sustainable development, economic growth and improved welfare for residents of Ondo State.
