The Court of Appeal sitting in Akure has discharged and acquitted the founder of Sotitobire Praising Chapel Prophet Babatunde Alfa over his conviction by the Ondo State High court in the disappearance of One-year-old, Gold Kolawole in his church in November 2019.
Delivering the appellate court judgement, presiding judge Justice Hammah Barka faulted the circumstantial evidence with which the cleric and 5 children teachers in the church were jailed for life by Justice Olusegun Odusola.
OSRC’s Zaheed Aribisala reports that Ondo State Attorney General and commissioner for Justice Charles Titiloye said the judgement would be studied before any further action.
