Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji has relived members of his cabinet of their positions leaving only three to function.

Oyebanji took the decision as he prepares for his inauguration for a 2nd term in office on Friday.

The Governor who held a valedictory exco meeting before the dissolution described erstwhile cabinet members as a formidable team whose contributions helped his administration deliver on its promises to the people.

He expressed gratitude for the divine grace, wisdom and opportunity to serve the people of Ekiti State, noting that his administration had remained committed to making the state a better place for everyone to live.

Oyebanji commended the cabinet members for their support and contributions to the implementation of his administration’s programmes and policies, assuring them that he would continue to maintain contact with them.

The Governor however, clarified that the dissolution does not affect the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Habibat Adubiaro; the Chief of Staff, Mr Oyeniyi Adebayo; and the Chief Press Secretary, Mr Olayinka Oyebode, who will remain in their respective positions.

Governor Oyebanji, who was re-elected in the June 20 governorship election, is scheduled to be sworn in for a second term on Friday, October 16, 2026.
