The death of a statesman often leaves behind more than memories. It leaves questions about the values he defended, the lives he influenced and the ideals that will outlive him.

For Pa Reuben Fasoranti, his legacy is reflected not only in the tributes of those who encountered him at different stages of their lives, but also in the principles he upheld throughout his journey in public service.

It was in recognition of this legacy that the management of the Ondo State Radiovision Corporation (OSRC) paid a condolence visit to the Fasoranti family, joining other sympathisers to honour the late elder statesman and identify with the family in its moment of grief.

Beyond his prominence in public affairs, Pa Fasoranti’s influence lives on in the personal experiences of those who looked up to him and the values they associate with his generation.

His passing has reignited conversations on leadership, purposeful living and the responsibility of public figures to leave behind principles capable of guiding future generations.

Director-General of OSRC, Kenneth Odusola-Stevenson, recalled first encountering the elder statesman in 1977, during his secondary school days, while travelling between Igbokoda and Ondo.

He said seeing a man of such stature left a lasting impression on him, inspiring him to approach life with purpose and make the most of every opportunity.

For the Fasoranti family, one of the most enduring aspects of the late elder statesman’s legacy was his belief in education as the foundation for societal progress.

His son, Taiwo Fasoranti, who is the Secretary to the Ondo State Government, described his father as an educationist to the core.
