The Ondo State Government has extended relief materials to victims of flooding and other disasters in Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo Local Government Area, as part of efforts to ease the hardship faced by affected residents.

The intervention was carried out by the Ondo State Emergency Management Agency (ODSEMA), which assured that the distribution of relief items would continue across the state until the end of the year.

Represented by ODSEMA Secretary, Richard Aina, Deputy Governor and ODSEMA Chairman, Olayide Adelami, said the exercise began about two weeks ago to support communities affected by disasters.

He explained that although the relief materials may not fully replace the losses suffered by beneficiaries, they reflect the government’s solidarity and commitment to their recovery.

The Deputy Governor said the intervention demonstrated the administration’s concern for the welfare of disaster victims, adding that the state would sustain the support.

The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on State Emergency Response, Wellington Adebawo, urged beneficiaries to use the materials judiciously as they rebuild their lives.

Also commending the state government, Chairman of Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo Local Government, Adeboye Adebare, praised the prompt approval and distribution of the relief items.

The beneficiaries thanked the Ondo state government saying the support would help reduce the suffering and hardship caused by the disaster.
