A development focused organization in Nigeria, Diamond Group, has called on the federal government to arrest with dispatch, growing insecurity in the land by implementing the community policing initiative.
The group also said it was time policing and internal security matters was removed from the ‘bloated’ exclusive list to enable state governors have better say in security management
A statement by leader of the group, Musa Toyyib-Olaniyi, also condemned in strong terms the killing of Olufon of Ifon, Oba Israel Adeusi by suspected kidnappers at the Elegbeka axis of the Owo ifon road.
Toyyib-Olaniyi said with the growing statistics of kidnappings, robberies, killings and other criminal activities, Amotekun corps should rise to the challenge.
The group however commended the swift way the wife of the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mrs Olubunmi Ale was released from the kidnappers den and advised that such efficiency should be extend to all cases of abduction and mayhem.
