The Ondo State Government has approved the immediate payment of leave bonuses to state workers, with disbursement scheduled for Thursday, October 29, 2026.

Organised Labour in the state announced the development in a press release signed by the Chairman of the Trade Union Congress (TUC), Ondo State Council, Comrade Clement Fatuase, on behalf of organised labour.

According to the statement, the approval followed concerted efforts by the state Head of Service and the Special Adviser to the Governor on Union Matters and Special Duties.

Organised Labour commended Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa for approving the payment, describing the gesture as a timely intervention that demonstrates the administration’s commitment to workers’ welfare.

The labour unions also appreciated the Head of Service and the Special Adviser for their contributions towards securing the approval.

The statement noted that the development underscores the importance of constructive engagement between the government and organised labour in addressing workers’ welfare concerns.

Organised Labour thanked the governor and other officials involved in the process, reaffirming its commitment to the welfare of workers in the state.
