The Turkish Football Federation has banned 147 current and former club officials for 45 days for violating betting rules following an investigation into gambling in Turkish football.
The Professional Football Disciplinary Board imposed the sanctions on Tuesday after reviewing the cases of 448 officials referred by the federation over allegations of placing bets while serving at clubs.
Those sanctioned include Ertugrul Dogan, president of Turkish Super Lig club Trabzonspor.
The board, however, cleared the remaining 301 officials after finding insufficient grounds for disciplinary action.
The Turkish Football Federation had announced in September the provisional suspension of 448 current and former club officials who had served at teams competing in the country’s top two divisions over the previous five years.
