Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State has denied allegations suggesting that some commissioners and state officials are engaging in the forgery of his signature.
The claims were initially made by Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) Kayode Ajulo, who asserted that Akeredolu’s illness-induced absence created an opportunity for certain individuals to forge his signature on official documents, thereby legitimizing their actions.
Akeredolu, refuting Ajulo’s statement through his Chief Press Secretary, Richard Olatunde, labeled the accusation as “utterly preposterous and ludicrous.” Olatunde challenged Ajulo to present concrete evidence supporting the allegations, accusing him of relying on “fabricated signatures” circulating on social media.
In response, Olatunde urged Ajulo to provide the alleged forged documents or disclose the beneficiary, expressing the governor’s willingness to investigate the matter and prosecute anyone found guilty.
However, he emphasized that baseless speculations and unfounded claims would not be entertained, asserting that the individuals behind the fabricated signatures were the actual culprits engaging in criminal activities.
Olatunde underscored that only Governor Akeredolu could legitimately claim if his signature had been forged.
