The race for the Ondo State House of Assembly has formally shifted into gear following the publication of the final list of candidates by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
The list, released in line with Section 32(1) of the Electoral Act, 2026 as amended, confirms the aspirants cleared to contest the 26 constituencies ahead of the February 6, 2027 election.
With the publication, political parties, candidates and supporters now have an official guide to the contenders in each constituency, ending weeks of speculation over eligibility and party nominations.
INEC has also opened display centres across the state, inviting residents, party officials, candidates and the media to inspect the list and verify those seeking to represent their communities.
The commission urged all stakeholders to use the display centres responsibly and report any concerns through appropriate channels, stressing that transparency remains central to credible elections.
