Conducting the ongoing Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations, UTME, for ten days and administering the exam in batches have raised talks about the possible implosion of the country’s admissions system. Unlike in the past, when the test was conducted in lesser days, this year’s edition has been slated for ten days, perhaps due to limited centers that can accommodate nearly two million candidates writing the exam. In this report, OSRC’s Richard Ilesanmi examines the conduct of the exam and some of the issues raised.
