Governments at all levels and employers of labour have been challenged to come up with sustainable framework for improved welfare of senior citizens who spent their productive years in service.
A professor of sociology and gerontology at the Osun State University, Olakunle Ogunbameru gave the recommendation at the 12th convocation lecture of Joseph Ayo Babalola University Ikeji-Arakeji, Osun State.
OSRC’s Richard Ilesanmi reports that the guest lecturer also urged those in active service to plan for their retirement which he called the rainy day to avoid the problems associated with the period.
