No fewer than three thousand, Nine Hundred and Nine persons have written the Teachers’ Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN), examination in Adeyemi College of Education (ACE) Ondo.


The attainment of TRCN Certificate is a Prerequisite for anyone aspiring to become a professional teachers in Nigeria.
Speaking on the examination, which held in the College on Wednesday 12 July, 2023, the Ondo State Coordinator of TRCN, Mr. Adesina Akande, explained that the introduction of the computer Based Test (CBT), for the aspiring professional Teachers, was aimed at preparing them for future classroom assignment as a teacher.
Akande also stated, that the professional qualifying Examination, which started in year 2017, was meant to be undertaken by graduates, who have attained first degree or post graduate certificate in any field of education.
Speaking further on the use of computer based Test (CBT) option for the conduct of the examination, the Ondo state TRCN Coordinator, stated that the decision was made by the organization for purpose of promoting computer Literacy in line with best global practices.
While lauding Management of Adeyemi College of Education (ACE) Ondo for partnering with the TRCN in ensuring the success of the exercise, Akande explained that the benefits that would accrue to graduating students of the institution after writing the examination, is that they would be issued the TRCN certificate before they leave the school, a step would make them more employable when looking for teaching Jobs.
Reiterating commitment of the TRCN to professionalization of teaching profession in Nigeria, Akande assured those who participated in the examination that a certificate would be issued to them once they passed the examination and paid the prescribed fee.
Also in his remarks, the Deputy Registrar, Exams and Records, ACE Ondo, Mr. Peter Okunniga, who is also the Coordinator of the TRCN examination in the College, commended the TRCN for the examination and assured the organization of institution’s support.
Okunniga also lauded participants for conducting themselves very well as well staff of the institution who participated as invigilators during the exercise.
The examination which held at the Computer Based Test Centre, Adeyemi College of Education Ondo, had graduates and higher degree certificate holders as participants.
