A five-storey building under construction in Awosika area of Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, has collapsed in the early hours of Thursday.
The building, meant to be a hotel is located within Ibadan North Local Government Area and close to the Oyo State Government secretariat.
It was gathered that no fewer than seven persons were rescued from the rubble of the building.
It is unclear if there was any casualty at the time of writing this report.
Rescue teams, consisting men from the State Fire Service, Federal Road Safety Commission, and other security agencies, have been deployed to the scene.
The rescue teams are still searching for the workers who must have been trapped in the building.
