It was a standstill at the road block axis of Akure, the Ondo state capital as protesters blocked the highway to register their grievances over the scarcity of fuel and naira notes .
Youths and artisans groups converged on the ever busy road to call on the federal government to look into the situations that’s causing pains and agony for Nigerians.
Some of the organizers of the protest, Oluyemi Fashipe and Ademola Ilesanmi noted that the current scarcity is making the country go through the worst situation in history .
They called on the Ondo state government to intensify efforts at making the Federal Government address the situation in the interest of the citizenry.
The protest according to them will not take longer than 2 o clock in the afternoon each of the 3 day protest.
Security agencies were also on ground to forestall breakdown of law and order.
The Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, NSCDC, Femi-Daniels Aidamenbor commended the conduct of the protesters saying they have been orderly in the expression of their grievances.
The protest is expected to hold also on Thursday at the cathedral area of Akure and on Friday at First Bank, Alagbaka area of the state capital.
