Sunshine Stars Football Club of Akure have qualified for the next round of the Federation Cup after posting a 2-0 win over Standard Football Club of Kaduna at the Confluence Stadium in Lokoja.
Michael Olalusi’s volley in the 13th minute off a pass from Vincent Temitope proved to be the much needed curtain raiser for the Akure-based side.
Olalusi made it two when he slotted in with 13 minutes left.
Captain Ejike Uzoechi replaced the fulfilled brace scorer in the nick of 90 minutes.
Sunshine Stars will next play EFCC, Abuja in the Round of 16 at a venue to be decided by Nigeria Football Federation.
