The Federal High Court sitting in Lagos has grant a bail to the suspended governor of the central bank of Nigeria(CBN), Mr. Godwin Emefiele.
The presiding judge, Justice Nicholas Oweibo, of the Federal High Court granted Emefiele bail with the sum of twenty million naira (N20M) and a surety of like sum, after rejecting the Federal Government’s claim that Emefiele was a flight risk.
The Judge had earlier rejected the claim by the Federal Government that it was not served with Emefiele’s bail application.
The court ruled that there’s evidence that the Federal Government was served, and that the FG didn’t provide any fact to support its claims.
The court ordered that Emefiele should be remanded in the Ikoyi correctional center, pending the perfection of his bail conditions.
The hearing of the case has been fixed for the 14th of November.
