The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Muhammed Malagi, has assured Nigerians that the Tinubu administration will come to engage citizens with truth and honesty towards building mutual understanding and cooperation for development.

Malagi gave the assurance while declaring open the 2023 Annual General Meeting of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, NIPR, in Abuja, the Nation’s capital.

According to Malagi, providing true and honest communication to Nigerians will eradicate mistrust and suspicion about government’s plans, programmes and policies.

“This administration shall not deceive Nigerians, we will dole out only the truth about happenings in government and issues affecting our people. This is part of my charge to officials of the Ministry of Information and National Orientation upon my assumption of office,” he said.

The Minister applauded Public Relations practitioners in Nigeria for their commitment to truth and honesty in relationship management and leadership support.

Commenting on the theme of the Annual General Meeting, Leadership, Public Relations and Value Creation, the Minister charged practitioners to embrace self development towards further contributing to National development and attaining self fulfilment.

The Annual General Meeting was attended by top government functionaries including the Acting Comptroller-General of Nigeria Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, DIG Frank Mba, senators, Traditional rulers and public relations practitioners from across Nigeria.
