The candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Ifeoluwa Ehindero has been declared winner of the House of Representatives By-election for Akoko NorthEast/NorthWest Federal Constituency.
Declaring the results after collations, Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC Returning Officer, Prof. Johnson Fasinmirin of the Federal University of Technology, Akure, FUTA said the APC candidate polled thirty five thousand, five hundred and four votes to defeat his closest rival, Mr Bada Olalekan of the People Democratic Party, PDP with fifteen thousand, three hundred and twenty eight votes.
The Akoko North-East/ North-West Federal constituency seat became vacant following President Bola Tinubu’s appointment of the occupant, Mr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo as Minister of Interior.
