Ondo State Acting Governor, Hon Lucky Aiyedatiwa and Ondo State former Governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko joined eminent personalities that witnessed the christian Commendation Service in honour of Late Olori Professor Omotayo Olutoye, held at The Cathedral Church of Saint David, Ijomu Akure on Thursday.
The late Prof Omotayo Olutoye was the wife of Alani of Ido-Ani, His Majesty Oba General Olufemi Olutoye Rtd.
The first female professor of Yoruba language, Prof Omotayo Olutoye died on July 12, 2023 aged 87.
She was a distinguished scholar and pioneering educator, becoming the first female in the world with a Phd in Yoruba Studies.
In her lifetime, the late Olori Yeyelua of Ido-Ani was an icon and illustrious daughter of Ilogbo-Ekiti in Ekiti State, whose works and seminar interventions helped in deepening the knowledge and understanding of Yoruba language.






Aiyedatiwa eulogized the late scholar for her important contributions to Yoruba language, culture and tradition.
He expressed Ondo State Government’s heartfelt condolences and deepest sympathies to the Royal family and the people of Ido-Ani on the sad loss.
