The Running Event that celebrates Greece as the birthplace of the Olympic Games, the Olympic Day Run will be commemorated in Akure, on Saturday, June 24, 2023.
The International event is marked worldwide every June 23 or 24 to bring people of all ages and abilities to participate in sporting activities regardless of age, gender, social background and to focus on expanding opportunities in culture and education.
The General Manager Ondo State Sports Council Henry Babatunde has urged people from across the state to participate in the event which will be flagged off by Ondo State acting Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
According to Mr Babatunde, the program will commence from Ondo State Government House in Alagbaka and terminate at Ondo State Sports Complex, Akure
Participants are expected to assemble at the Car Park of the Government House for the take off at 8am
The theme of this year’s Olympic Day is ‘Let’s Move’ which aims to inspire people around the world to make time for daily physical activity.
