ASO Football Academy of Akure have qualified for the final of BetKing Ondo State Residents Football Tournament, a pre-season competition held at Ondo State Sports Complex, Akure
The star-studded team beat Emalex FC, Owo two-nil in Group A, in their latest tie to cement their place in Sunday’s final.
It was the Academy’s second win of the competition having beaten Able God FC, Ondo one-zero in their first encounter.
They now await the winner of Group B which has OSOPADEC FC, Okitipupa coached by the legendary Boye Ogunderu, Zion FC, Idanre FC and NPFL All-Stars, Akure.
Meanwhile, there is all to play for, to grab the runners-up spot in Group A. With a game left, Ekimogun FC, Ondo are in pole position with two points.
The soccer competition involving clubs in the three senatorial districts of Ondo State will climax on Sunday.
