The intended peaceful protest by public university students in Ondo State held in Akure, the state capital on Tuesday was disrupted by men of the Nigerian army.
The protest, which entered its second day, was to call on the federal government and the striking Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU to end the ongoing strike.
OSRC’s Richard Ilesanmi who has been covering the protest, reports that the soldiers opened fire and dismantled the barricade erected by the protesting students.
