In continuation of his tour of media houses, and engagement with media practitioners, the Ondo state Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Wale Akinlosotu, on Wednesday, met with top media executives in Lagos.

The meeting, which had in attendance heads of media houses with continental coverage, was to present the policies, projects and programs of the Lucky Aiyedatiwa-led government of Ondo state to the head honchos.

Akinlosotu said, “Aiyedatiwa is a media-friendly Governor, who believes in fairness, equity and justice. He will never say black is white. So I am here today with the state media team to formally introduce myself to you as the new commissioner and to thank you for your support over the years”

The information commissioner disclosed that the governor has touched all critical sectors of the state since assuming office last December.

According to him, “The interesting thing is that the governor has continued with every single project started by his predecessor. Our government is also doing a lot of new things, from education to healthcare, infrastructure to security.

“Teachers and health workers recruitments are currently ongoing, new roads across the state have been awarded, infrastructure grants have been given to our state-owned tertiary institutions such as University of Medical Sciences (UNIMED) in Ondo and Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology (OAUSTECH), Okitipupa”.

He further hinted that the state will hold the first and biggest entrepreneurship festival in Nigeria later this year, asking for their collaborations as partners in making the festival a truly global event.

Akinlosotu called the media executives, ‘gatekeepers’ who are leading their respective organizations to embark on responsible journalism, saying the media is the backbone of every thriving democracy.

Wednesday’s event was one of such that have taken place in the last few months within and outside the state.
