Students of Adekunle Ajasin University Akungba akoko in Ondo State today protested the incessant road accidents which have claimed many lives.
The protest was fuelled by the latest accident that claimed the life of a former student of the Institution simply identified as Michael at the troubled okerigbo hill along ikare akoko road.
The route has become haven of hundreds of trucks going and returning from the northern part of the country.
Trucks among other articulated vehicles are daily features of area which sometimes last year forced the University authorities to closed the main gate after an accident that claimed over ten lives.
Today’s protest has restricted vehicular movements in the town as many travelers are stranded while smaller cars detoured to other routes.
