Nigeria became an independent nation on the 1st of October 1960 exiting colonial rule after  years of sustained agitations.

The destiny of Nigeria fell on the shoulder of the Prime Minister Tafawa Balewa whose first speech resonated with hope and prospects of an egalitarian society.

Encouraged by promises of a nation dripping in milk and honey, citizens rolled out the drums and cymbals.
