The Ondo State government has partnered a non-governmental organization, Gender Mobile to combat gender-based and sexual violence in the state’s higher institutions.
At the signing of the multisectoral agreement in Akure, Special Adviser to governor Akeredolu on Gender, Olamide Falana and the Executive Secretary of the NGO, Omowumi Ogunrotimi pledged to implement the project diligently to make the institutions safe for girls.
OSRC’s Richard Ilesanmi reports that the agreement comes months after the state government set up the Gender-Based Violence
Agency with relevant legislation to address the social issue.
