A petitioner, Mr. Micheal Ogunleye has accused officers of the defunct Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) of stealing his gold valued at 20 million naira during an illegal arrest and detenon the 6th of May 2014.
Ogunleye while narrating his ordeal to the Ondo State Judicial Panel on Police Brutality and other Matters claimed his fundamental human rights was infringed upon by the Police during the ordeal.
OSRC’s Olatomiwa Donald-Falayi reports that after arguments and counter arguments by the petitioner’s counsel and the police, the case has been closed for recommendations to the government.
