A ranking senior military officer Captain Gana, and two others who were abducted by suspected gunmen in Akoko area of Ondo state, have been rescued by security operatives today.

Confirming their release the Police Public Relation Officer, Ondo Command, ASP Tee- Leo ikoro said they were rescued at a forest around the boundary of Ondo-Edo states close to Ibilo.
Ikoro said combined team of the Army and other security agencies rescued the military officer without paying any ransom.
the kidnappers had earlier demanded for twenty million naira ransom for their release.
