An early morning inferno today gulped a section of the popular Bodija market in Ibadan,the Oyo State capital
Some traders are said to be counting their losses after the fire incident as they claimed that they lost goods worth millions of naira.
The cause of the fire could not be immediately ascertained but it was gathered that the fire was eventually put out by fire fighters, traders and security guards at the market.
The Director of Operations, Oyo State Fire Service, Mr Ismail Adeleke confirmed to newsmen that the fire was put out and efforts made to put the situation under control
Adeleke however advised residents of the state to always put safety measures in place to prevent fire outbreaks and to always call fire service immediately there is an outbreak.
