PRESS STATEMENT

The attention of the Office of the Ondo State Head of Service has been drawn to a viral video on social media of a lady lamenting non-payment of her Internship Allowance.

While, as bureaucrats, it is not in our character to respond to such complaints not properly channelled, we are constrained to set the record straight by availing the innocent public of the true position of things as regards the issues raised in the video.

The author of the video (name withheld) happens to be one of the non-regular staff of the state Hospital Management Board, HMB on Internship, who have pending issues with a verification committee set up by the government to regularise some noticed anomalies.

Fortunately, her name is one of those that has just been cleared by the report of the committee a few days ago.

One would have expected the said author to cross-check the status of her pending issue with the committee since she is not unaware of it rather than embarking on the social media outburst.

Let me emphasise for the umpteenth time, that the Akeredolu-led government in the state has demonstrated immense commitment to the well-being of workers in the state in general and the health workers in particular.

To this end, officers in the state are enjoined to explore all available avenues to inquire about issues rather than going to social media to raise unnecessary dust.

Sina Adeyeye,
Director Information,
Office of the Head of Service
