Ondo state government has described as untrue and baseless, allegations by the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees, NULGE that some top functionaries connived to deduct and divert local government funds. The Commissioner for Finance, Wale Akinterinwa and the State Accountant General, Laolu Akindolire said the monies deducted was effected by the Federal government in all council areas across the country based on a Supreme Court judgement. OSRC’s Shola Ilesanmi reports the state ALGON chairman, Augustine Oloruntogbe also clarified that the monies were deducted for a disputed project implemented by the national body of the association in 2003.
