Sir Steve Alabi to Sunshine Stars: Sustain Last Season’s Performance

The Management of Sunshine Stars/ Sunshine Queens has been advised not to reduce the barometer of performance of the teams just as the 2023/2024 Nigeria Premier League Football NPFL approaches.

The Chairman Board of Trustees of Sports Writers Association Nigeria (SWAN), Sir Steve Alabi stated this while receiving the newly inaugurated executives of the Ondo State chapter of the association In his office.

The former National President of the association charged sports writers in the state to set agenda for Sunshine stars, Sunshine Queens and other sports to reposition sports for national and continental recognition in Ondo State.

Sir Steve Alabi, while congratulating the Segun Giwa-led executive, charged the association to be focused and united for the growth of the association in the State.

“I’m confident that the Giwa-led executives will perform creditably and charged them to work in the interest of all members of the association.

“I will continue to support SWAN in Ondo State to propagate sports related activities and fast track grassroots sports development in the state,”he said.

In his remark, the Chairman Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, Ondo State Chapter, Mr Segun Giwa thanked Sir Steve Alabi for his critical role at fostering peace and unity among members of the sports fraternity.

Giwa sought for more support, while assuring that the association will continue to collaborate with major stakeholders in the sports industry to develop sports at the grassroots.

Members of SWAN in Ondo state present at the visit include Secretary, Joseph Adesuyan; Financial Secretary, Femi Atolagbe; former Caretaker Chairman, Ondo SWAN Femi Dairo; former Chairman Ondo SWAN Wahab Bankole and former South-West Secretary and Ondo State Chairman of SWAN, Akintunde Akinsemola, among others.
